Morgan helped lead the Wave to be the first ever expansion team to make the playoffs as they reached the semifinals. The Wave then won the NWSL Shield in the next season as the team with the top regular season record behind Morgan's seven goals. The 2024 season began with Morgan scoring the deciding goal in 1-0 victory over NJ/NY Gotham FC to secure San Diego's first NWSL Challenge Cup. The soccer legend would retire later that season after putting the Wave on the map right from the beginning.Morgan's number 13 became the first number to be retired in club history.
