Historical Milestones
Paul George is small forward in the NBA that is currently playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. George was born and raised in California and ended up going to Fresno State to play college basketball. When George was drafted by the Indiana Pacers with the 10th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, he became the highest draft pick to ever come out of Fresno State.
After a few solid seasons to start his NBA career, Paul George busted out in a big way in his third season back in 2012-13. That year, George became the go-to scorer for the Pacers, averaging 17.4 points per game to go along with 7.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Following the season, George won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award. George spent seven seasons with the Pacers, in which he was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive and All-NBA teams three times each, as well as being a four-time All-Star.
Prior to the 2017-18 NBA season, George was traded from the Pacers to the Oklahoma City Thunder. After a great first year with the Thunder, George chose to remain in Oklahoma City as a free agent and signed a new four-year $137 million contract. George has now turned himself into an MVP candidate as he forms one of the best duos in the NBA with former MVP Russell Westbrook.
