The draft class was one of the best draft classes in recent history consisting of future stars Connor Bedard, Leo Carlsson, Adam Fantilli, and Will Smith. While Brayden Yager may not have had as much name recognition as some of the others drafted before him, his numbers have been almost as impressive. During the 2022-2023 WHL season Yager would put up an impressive 1.16 points per game, his numbers were even better in the playoffs as he would finish second in the WHL postseason in points per game at 1.60. Yager's most defining characteristic is his wrist shot, it is so good that even during his rookie season in the WHL scouts ranked his shot "elite" at the NHL level.
