In Hagens' final season playing with the U.S. National U18 Team before going to Boston College he tallied 39 goals and 102 points in 58 games, averaging an incredible 1.76 points per game. At the 2024 IIHF World U18 Championships Hagens would set a tournament record scoring 22 points in just 7 games helping Team USA to a silver medal. In Hagens' first year at Boston College he averaged a point per game as he would be named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.
