He immediately began to shine, including a December that featured a career-high 38-point game on the way to the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month award, before eventually being named to the 2021-22 NBA All-Rookie First Team. Wagner has continued to improve and make an impact in Orlando, with his third season being capped off with the Magic's first playoff berth in the playoffs in four years. He has followed that up with an even stronger start to the 2023-24 season, including a team-leading 30.5 points per game in group play of the NBA Cup to help advance the Magic into the knockout stage.
