Historical Martin Brodeur Milestones
Considered the most accomplished and decorated goalie of his generation, former New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur left a lasting impression on the Devils franchise before his 2015 retirement following a 21-year tenure in the Garden State. Brodeur's consistent, mostly dominant goaltending led the Devils to three Stanley Cup titles putting his name at the top of 30-plus Devils franchise records. Drafted by New Jersey in 1990, Brodeur made a splash in the NHL in 1994 by winning the Calder Trophy, the NHL's Rookie of the Year award. The following season his shutdown-force in goal lead the Devils to their first ever Stanley Cup. Since Brodeur's first championship in 1995 there has been no other Devils goaltender even mentioned in the same sentence when it comes to this franchise's success. Chosen to 10 NHL All-Star Games, Brodeur holds NHL records for most career playoff shutouts, most 40-win seasons and most career shutouts in the regular season and playoffs combined. Not limited to success in the National Hockey League, Brodeur is also a two-time Olympic Gold-winning goaltender as he led his native Canada to victory during the 2002 Winter Games and again in 2010. A four-time winner of the NHL's prestigious Vezina Trophy, for the league's best goaltender, Martin Brodeur is a Hall of Famer and is among the greatest goalies in NHL history.
It's said that a great goaltender can carry his team all the way to the Stanley Cup. There is no better example of this than Martin Brodeur, whose legendary play in net led defensive-oriented New Jersey to three Stanley Cup Championships. By the time of his 2015 retirement after a quick stint playing for the Blues, Brodeur topped all goaltenders with his accomplishments that has placed him as leader in wins, minimal losses, shutouts, games played, goals scored, assists and points earned. With a career this decorated, Martin Brodeur memorabilia continues to increase with a jersey retirement, statue unveiling and his eventual Hall of Fame induction. If you're looking to add Hall of Fame value to your collection, look no further.
