Satchel Paige was probably in his mid to late 1940s when the photo was taken for this Satchel Paige 8 x 10 print. The image is a familiar one -- initially distributed by the St. Louis Browns' public relations department. In any event, the photo is without a crease, spotless, and has acceptably sharp corners. Then, he placed his autograph against a white background; the instrument had a blue felt tip, and the sure hand of this penning indicates that 'Ole Satch was still a man of vitality when he signed this piece.
