Archie Griffin was one of the greatest college football players of all time. From 1972 to 1975, Griffin absolutely destroyed the college scene as one of the most outstanding running backs to play for the powerhouse Ohio State University. Griffin racked up accolades and trophies as he ran over opposing teams in the BIG 10 and around the nation. In 1974 Archie Griffin won his first Heisman Trophy after a stellar season in the OSU backfield. The following season, Archie Griffin became college football’s only two-time Heisman Trophy winner. His incredible skill and longevity helped Griffin bring the Ohio State to four Big Ten Conference titles and four Rose Bowls.

In Archie Griffins second game of his college career, he broke the school record for single-game rushing yards with 239. Over the course of his college career, Griffin maintained this incredible level of play, totaling 5,589 yards and 26 touchdowns. Griffins awesome performances also helped him win two Silver Footballs, award by the Chicago Tribune to the MVP of the Big Ten. Although Griffin wasn’t the biggest running back to play for Ohio State, Archie destroyed defenses with ease. In his sophomore season, Griffin put a final exclamation point with his massive 149-yard game against the University of Southern California in the Rose Bowl. In his senior year, Griffin continued to improve on an already incredible career, rushing for 1,450 yards while bringing the Buckeyes to an undefeated regular season. Archie Griffin was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame for his amazing rushing performances and excellent character. After his legendary college campaign, Griffin was drafted in the 1st round of the 1976 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. In the NFL, Griffin would play 7 seasons, totaling 2,808 yards with 7 touchdowns on the ground and 6 more touchdowns through the air.
