Tony Gonzalez is one of the best tight ends in NFL history and was a huge part of the revolution of the tight end position; from primarily being blockers who sometimes catch passes, to guys that primarily are receivers but sometimes are asked to block. Gonzalez went to college at Berkley for three years where he was a two-sport athlete playing football and basketball. In his third season at Berkley, Gonzalez had 699 receiving yards, five touchdowns, and was an All-American. Following that season, he decided to enter the 1997 NFL Draft and was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs as the 13th overall pick.

While he was productive in his first two seasons, Gonzalez had a breakout year in his first Pro Bowl season in 1998. The tight end caught 76 passes for 849 yards and a career-high of 11 touchdowns. This was the first of ten straight Pro Bowl seasons for Gonzalez, the best of which came in 2004. That year he set a tight end record with 102 catches, which has since been broken, for a career-high 1,258 yards. After 12 years in Kansas City, the Chiefs traded Gonzalez to the Falcons prior to the 2009 season. He spent five years in Atlanta and was a Pro Bowler for the last four. Gonzalez was remarkably durable throughout his career, only missing two games in 17 seasons and was always productive with 111 career touchdowns.
