About Vancouver Grizzlies Autographed Memorabilia & Collectibles
The Vancouver Grizzlies was one of NBA’s attempts of capturing the Canadian audience. The team, built in 1995, was not however able to maintain sufficient attendance records during its out-of-the-country games. In 2000, Michael Heisle purchased the team. Although he initially promised to maintain the team’s headquarters in Vancouver, this was not ultimately practical as attendance continued to be poor. In the end, Heisle had to relocate the team to the US and for which it was renamed as the Memphis Grizzlies.
First up for Vancouver Grizzlies fans is the Rudy Gay Memphis Grizzlies Jersey – there are two types of this jersey available in the website and one of which comes in XXL. Gay was originally the first round pick of the Houston Rockets in 2006 and was eighth overall for the NBA Draft. During college, Gay played for the University of Connecticut.
Up next is the Darius Miles Illinois Warriors High School Jersey. As made evident by this collectible, Miles had already made a name for himself as early as his teens. In fact, he was recruited straight out from high school by the LA Clippers, making him the 3rd overall pick in 2000’s NBA Draft. In his first season, he made it to the All-Rookie First Team. After two years with the Clippers, he moved to the Cavaliers, the Trail Blazers, and spent one memorable year with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2008-2009 season.
Finally, there’s the OJ Mayo Memphis Grizzlies Jersey. Mayo was originally from the Minnesota Timberwolves as its first round pick and the third overall for the 2008 NBA Draft.
