The Quebec Nordiques are a former NHL franchise team based in Quebec City, Quebec until 1995. The Nordiques were founded in 1972 as members of the World hockey League, but transitioned into the NHL in 1979 during the NHL-WHA merger. Competing until the end of the 1994-95 season, the Nordiques were relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1995, becoming the Colorado Avalanche.
Though their tenure in the NHL was relatively-short lived, the Quebec Nordiques were a successful franchise who brought home one Avco World Trophy in the WHA and four Division Championships in the NHL. Throughout their history, the Nordiques hosted some of the most impressive NHL talents, including the first player to ever score a hat trick, Real Cloutier and the second, Alex Smart. Peter Stastny, a Calder Trophy winner and his brother Anton, also spent time on the Nordiques roster, as did NHL All-Star Joe Sakic.
With an NHL tenure in their past, the quantity of Quebec Nordiques autographed memorabilia is numbered, but that doesn’t mean you cannot add it to your own home, office or man cave collection.
