The Pittsburgh Steelers are based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and play in the NFL's AFC North Division. Founded in 1933, they’re the oldest franchise in the AFC and have won more Super Bowl titles and AFC Championship games than any other NFL team. The team played at the old Pirates stadium Forbes Field before taking the field at Pitt Stadium and Three Rivers Stadium while they’re current home of Heinz Field was being built.
As the team with the most Super Bowl victories to their name, there's no argument in saying that the Pittsburgh Steelers are the most successful team in NFL history. The team has participated in the Super Bowl a league leading eight times, three of those coming within the last decade of play. Throughout their 80+ years of existence, Pittsburgh has made the postseason 27 times, won 20 division titles, and taken home eight conference championships. This franchise would not have been nearly as successful without the number of Hall of Famers that have taken the field for them. Legendary quarterback Terry Bradshaw, running back Franco Harris, and defensive powerhouse Mean Joe Greene have all called Pittsburgh home during their incredible careers in pro football. Even now there are an impressive amount of superstars that wear the black and gold each Sunday, like Pro Bowlers Ben Roethlisberger and Le'Veon Bell.
