Koufax is a Hall of Famer and widely considered one of the greatest starting pitchers ever, winning three Cy Young Awards and the 1963 National League MVP Award along the way. Legendary manager Tommy Lasorda led the Dodgers to World Series titles in 1981 and 1988. In 1988 the Dodgers defeated the Oakland Athletics in the World Series and Kirk Gibson hit one of the most legendary walk-off home runs in baseball history in Game 1. Kirk Gibson chugging around the bases pumping his arm is possibly the most replayed and legendary moment in sports history.
