The Cincinnati Bengals, based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, are a member of the NFL’s AFC North Division. The Bengals were found 1968 and began playing in the American Football League before the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. While the inaugural season was played Nippert Stadium, the team plays in Paul Brown Stadium, the stadium named after their first coach, Hall of Famer Paul Brown.
Under Brown’s leadership the Bengals saw much success during the 1970s and 80s, winning four AFC central titles and appearing into two Super Bowls. After a drought of winning, the Bengals made a comeback in 2009, appearing in the playoffs and sweeping the division for the first time in franchise history. With three consecutive wild card playoff berths, the Bengals found recent success in the NFL with key players like Andy Dalton and Giovani Bernard.
