The Auburn Tigers is the official athletics program for Auburn University located in Alabama. Historically known as a football powerhouse, the Auburn Tigers began their play in 1892 and are currently members of the SEC conference. Since the 1930's, Auburn has played their home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium, a field notoriously known for its hostile crowd and rowdy game day atmosphere.
For years on end Auburn University has been one of the most iconic programs in college football. With two national championships and 68 All-Americans, it's no wonder why the Tigers football team is one of the most feared in the country. Although they have a rich history of success, nowadays Auburn is one of the most dominant teams in the country, winning a national championship in 2010 and nearly winning another in 2013. Sometimes referred to as "Running Back U", Auburn has been home to a number of football's most incredible backs, like do-it-all athlete Bo Jackson and current NFL players Tre Mason and Ben Tate. Arguably the most iconic Tiger to make his fame in the NFL is former Heisman winner and Pro Bowl quarterback Cam Newton.
