Wrigley Field is an iconic baseball park located in Chicago Illinois. Since 1916, Wrigley Field has served as the home ballpark of the Chicago Cubs and is formerly known as Weeghman Park or Cubs Park. The baseball venue earned its current name in honor of previous Cubs team owner, William Wrigley Jr., and was nicknamed “The Friendly Confines” by “Mr. Cub” and Hall of Famer, Ernie Banks.
Although Wrigley Field is the home field for only the Chicago Cubs, the baseball park also served as the home of the Chicago Bears between 1921 and 1970, as well as the host of the NHL Winter Class in 2009. Wrigley Field is currently the oldest National League venue and second oldest active major league ballpark. It is also known for its hand turned scoreboard, ivy covered outfield wall, and iconic red marquee over the main entrance.
