Historical Reggie Jackson Milestones
Whenever Reggie Jackson stepped up to the plate he was always a threat to a launch a ball over the outfield wall. This former New York Yankees right fielder was one of the most prolific home run hitters Major League Baseball has ever seen, smashing 563 career homers. Jackson also played for the Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, and the California Angels over the course of his legendary career. During Reggie’s time in the big leagues he earned the nickname “Mr. October” for his outstanding numbers in the postseason.
This 14-time All-Star was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993 with 93.6% of the first vote. Jackson won the Silver Slugger Award and the World Series MVP Award twice each and the 1973 American League MVP Award. Jackson led the American League in home runs on four different occasions and Reggie’s number has been retired by both the Yankees and Athletics. Jackson’s most memorable moment came when he smashed three home runs off the Los Angeles Dodgers during Game Six of the 1977 World Series leading the Yankees to clinch a World Series title.
