Teddy Bridgewater is a quarterback in the NFL that currently plays for the New Orleans Saints. Bridgewater went to the University of Louisville to play college football and had great success in their program. Bridgewater did not begin his true freshman year as the starting quarterback but earned that role by the fourth week of the season. Bridgewater ended up winning the Big Eat Rookie of the Year for his performance that season. Then as a sophomore, Bridgewater began to establish himself as one of the best quarterbacks in college football, leading Louisville to a Big East title. Bridgewater threw for 3,452 yards and 25 touchdowns that year, while only throwing seven interceptions. He was also named Big East Player of the Year.
In his last season at Louisville, Teddy Bridgewater improved his numbers to 3,970 yards with 31 touchdowns and just four interceptions. Bridgewater entered the 2014 NFL Draft as one of the top players available and was selected by the Minnesota Viking with the final pick of the first round. Similar to college, Bridgewater was not named the outright starter in his first year but assumed the position a few weeks into the season. Bridgewater went on to have a big year as a rookie, throwing for 4,235 yards in just 13 games played with 40 touchdowns and was named the Pepsi Rookie of the Year. In his second season, Bridgewater was a Pro Bowler and led his team to the playoffs.
After his second season as the starter for Minnesota he had fully cemented himself as their franchise quarterback. Then in practice prior to the 2016 season, Bridgewater suffered an awful non-contact knee injury that not only was torn ACL, but he also sustained structural damage to his knee as well. Teddy would miss the entire 2016 season and most of the 2017 season, while losing his position as the starting quarterback of the Vikings. Prior to the 2018 season, Bridgewater signed a one-year deal with the Jets and was subsequently traded to the New Orleans Saints.
