Historical Steve Nash Milestones
Widely regarded as a top-10 point guard of all-time, Steve Nash has had one of the most decorated NBA careers ever. A former first round pick of the Phoenix Suns, Nash would be traded to Dallas shortly after where he established himself as a top point guard in the league. Playing most of his career with the Mavericks and Suns, Nash won two MVP awards playing in Phoenix becoming the first Canadian to earn the award as well as only the third point guard ever to win it. Nash was a prolific scorer to go along with his outstanding court vision that led him to lead the league in assists on five separate occasions. Nash is was a part of the 50-40-90 club (which is shooting 50% on field goals, 40% from beyond the 3-point line, and 90% from the free throw line) in four seasons, which is something that only seven other players have accomplished ever and only the second to achieve it more than once. The laundry list of accomplishments for this point guard as endless, he was a seven time All-NBA selection along with making eight All-Star teams. In terms of his playing style, Nash was tremendously effective running the pick and roll, especially with teammates like Amar’e Stoudemire, Shawn Marion and Dirk Nowitzki. His two NBA MVP awards came in back-to-back seasons making him only the tenth player to achieve that feat. And his 90.4% career free throw shooting percentage ranks him first all-time in NBA history.
Steve Nash undoubtedly has had one of the most memorable and prolific careers in NBA history. His consistency on the court made him one of the most reliable and constant performers in the league. Etching his name all over the league record books has solidified his Hall of Fame career and has landed him amongst the NBA’s greatest point guards.
