Steve Kerr is now known as the Head Coach of the Golden State Warriors, who have been the best team in basketball for some time now. As the coach of the Warriors, Kerr won the NBA Finals in his first season as their coach in 2015. Then in 2016 Kerr’s Warriors lost in the Finals to LeBron James’ Cavaliers, but the Warriors still made history that year. The Warriors broke the NBA record for wins in the regular season with a record of 73-9. Then in 2017 the Warriors once again reached the mountaintop as they won their second championship in three years.
Modern-day NBA fans may not realize that Kerr had a great playing career prior to his career as a coach. In fact, when his Warriors broke the record for wins in a season, Kerr was breaking the record of the 1995-96 Bulls team that he played on that went 72-10. Kerr was a second-round pick in the 1988 NBA Draft and went on to have a 16-year NBA career. Often playing the role of backup point guard, Kerr was an excellent three-point shooter as he shot 45% from beyond the arc in his career. The biggest shot that he hit in his career was in the 1997 NBA Finals when he hit the title-winning shot against the Utah Jazz in the final second of Game 6 off a pass from Michael Jordan.
Steve Kerr will forever be remembered as a champion. Not only was he a part of the Bulls teams of 1996-1998 that won three straight championships, but when he went to the Spurs following that three-peat he won the Finals again to win four straight titles. That title was the first in Spurs history, and he won a second title with them in 2003 for five in his career. We offer autographed memorabilia from Kerr across both his playing and coaching careers. These collectibles will be great for Bulls, Spurs and Warriors fans alike and are all guaranteed authentic.
