A Dominican American All- Star outfielder in Major League Baseball, Moises Alou plays for the New York Mets. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 3, 1966.
In his youth, he was more interested in playing basketball than baseball. He attended Canada College in Redwood City, California. Chosen by the Pittsburg Pirates, Alou was the second overall pick in the amateur draft in 1986. He was traded to the Montreal Expos in 1990.
