About Mike Schmidt Autographed Memorabilia & Collectibles
A former professional baseball player, Michael Schmidt earned his legacy during a 17-year career as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies. Signed by Tony Lucadello, Schmidt was drafted in the second round of the MLB Draft in 1971 and went on to lead the National League in home runs just three years later. Often remembered for his unusual batting stance, that included turning his back to the pitcher while waiting for the pitch, Schmidt is widely regarded as one of the greatest third basemen in baseball history.
Throughout his Major League career, Mike Schmidt succeeded in earning 12 All-Star game appearances, ten Gold Glove awards, six Silver Slugger awards, and was an eight-time home run champion. From 1976- 1978, he helped the Phillies win the three straight division titles and Philadelphia's first World Series Championship in 1980. Hitting two homers and driving in seven runs during the championship, he was also selected as MVP World Series. For his success on the field and contribution to the Phillies' success, Schmidt was named National League MVP on three occasions. As a member of the baseball Hall of Fame, Mike Schmidt's career is one to be celebrated forever.
