An American football linebacker, Lofa Tatupu was born in Plainville, Massachusetts on November 15, 1982. He attended King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Even when still in high school, he had 110 tackles as a linebacker in his senior year; Tatupu was also named the All- League Defensive Most Valuable Player title.
He spends his freshman year at the University of Maine and transferred to Southern California. He started as a linebacker in his first-year freshman in Maine. Maine had gone 9-3 in 2001 that won a share of the Atlantic 10 title and its first-post season game, advancing to the NCAA Division I-AA quarterfinals. In 2 years; he had started with 25 games with the USC Trojans as an All-American. In his stay with the USC Trojans, they had won back-to-back national championships leading to the recognition of Lofa Tatupu autographed NFL football.
