Many NBA fans do not realize that Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook were once teammates in college at UCLA. Love was outstanding in his freshman season leading the Bruins with 17.5 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game. Westbrook and Love would lead UCLA to a Final Four where they lost to Memphis. Love was named a first-team All-American, the PAC-10 Player of the Year as well as Rookie of the year. After such a great season, Love declared for the 2008 NBA Draft and was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the fifth overall pick.
Kevin Love would never play for the Grizzlies as he was traded following the draft in a huge deal that sent him to the Minnesota Timberwolves and the third overall pick, O.J. Mayo, to the Grizzlies. Love proved early on that he was a walking double-double in the NBA as he led all rookies with 29 setting a franchise record in the process. In his six seasons with Minnesota, Love averaged 19.2 points with 12.2 boards making three All-Star games. Prior to the 2014-15 season, with Love unwilling to commit to the T-Wolves long-term, they traded Love to the Cavaliers in a package that included that year’s No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins.
As a member of the Cavaliers, Love had to take a back seat to Kyrie Irving and LeBron James as the team's the third option. Love eventually adjusted to that role and was a big part of the team that brought Cleveland its first championship in 52 years, as well as the only NBA Championship in franchise history. NBA fans will appreciate our great selection of memorabilia from one of its star players. Love’s career is on a Hall of Fame trajectory and these guaranteed authentic collectibles are only going to increase in value.
