Born on January 20, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee, Ken Hamlin is a professional football player who plays for the National Football League. He began as a high school football player at Frayser High School in Memphis and was a recipient of the Class 3A Player of the Year Award. He played as the high school team’s safety and recorded 96 solo tackles out of 136 total tackles and eight interceptions. He moved to University of Arkansas where he was selected for the All-American and the All-SEC Team of the SEC Coaches. He made a school history of recording over a hundred tackles thrice in a season and played a total of 36 games in his entire college career.
Hamlin went pro in 2003 as a 42nd overall pick of the Seattle Seahawks during the 2003 NFL Draft. He became a player of the All-Rookie Team by Pro-Football Weekly and recorded 96 tackles. After being involved in a altercation in a nightclub in Seattle, he was injured and missed out playing for entire 2005 season.
In 2007, he signed a deal with the Dallas Cowboys where he had his very first Pro Bowl selection. He was released by the Cowboy on April 2010. At present, Hamlin is a free agent.
