John Fox is a football coach. He is currently the head coach for the Carolina Panthers which plays in the NFL. He attended Castle Park High School and was under the tutelage of renowned coaches Gil Warren and Bing Dawson. He entered Southwestern College in California where he played collegiate football. He graduated from San Diego State University with a degree of Physical Education.
His career as a coach started when he served as secondary coach in the University of Kansas. The university has produced great footballers including John Hadl, John Riggins and Gale Sayers. In 1989, he agreed to become the secondary coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also coached the San Diego Chargers, Los Angeles Raiders, St. Louis Rams and the New York Giants.
In 2002, Fox became the head coach for the Carolina Panthers. During the team’s first game under his supervision, the Panthers posted a victory against the Baltimore Ravens. The Panthers had a 15-game losing streak before that win. By the end of that season, the team was able to post a 7-9 record. In the next season, Fox was able to lead the Panthers to the Super Bowl XXXVIII and the NFC Championship game in 2005.
