Bobby Richardson is a retired player in the Major League Baseball who hails from Sumter, South Carolina. He played as part of the defense for the New York Yankees which he joined in 1955. His first game in the league was on August 5, 1955 and played on jersey number 1 for the Yankees. He was given the Gold Gloves award five times in his entire career and was part of the New York Yankee’s game in the World Series of 1962.

He also recorded 209 hits that season which became the highest in the American League. In 161 games he played that season, he was able to record 11 stolen bases.
