About Arturo Gatti Autographed Memorabilia & Collectibles

nal boxer, was born on April 15, 1972 in Calabria, Italy. Nicknamed “Thunder”, he was raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and moved to New Jersey during his teenage years. He was Ring Magazine’s “fight of the year” participant four times, for the year 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2003. He was a member of Canadian National Team and was trained to represent the country in 1992 Summer Games. But before the event, he decided to begin his professional boxing career. On June 10, 1991, he won over Jose Gonzalez of Secaucus New Jersey by a third round knockout. He was undefeated for six bouts but unfortunately lost  to King Solomon on November 17, 1992.

Gatti became a famous world champion when he outpointed Tracy Harris Patterson, son of Floyd Patterson, on December 15, 1995. That same year, he signed a multi-fight deal with HBO to accept fights on HBO Boxing. He defended his world title once in 1996. The next year, he won by wide points over Patterson and scored a TKO over Calvin Grove.

According to many reviews, he held a record of 40 wins, 9 losses and 31 wins by knockout before he retired on July 14, 2007. Reports surfaced that Gatti would make a comeback against Antonin Decarie, a welterweight champion from Montreal. Unfortunately, the fight didn’t happen.
