Anthony Parker is a National Basketball Association player who hails from Naperville, Illinois. He began his basketball career as a basketball varsity athlete at Naperville Central High School and then went to Bradley University where he spent his remarkable college basketball career. He became a leading player in the university and logged 18.9 PPG which gave him the Most Valuable Player award in the Missouri Valley Conference. After four years of his wonderful career at Bradley U, he joined the National Basketball Association draft in 1997 and became a 21st overall selection of the New Jersey Nets. However, he did not immediately play for his parent team and instead was moved to the Philadelphia 76ers where he spent two flimsy seasons. He then joined the Orlando Magic via trade and in the Continental Basketball Association.
Parker spent his next five seasons in the Israeli Super League and also appeared in the Italian Lega A where he played for the team Lottomatica Roma. There, he had his best seasons as he became part of Isaraeli National Cups five times and helped the Maccabi Tel Aviv to its five championships in the national league.
After his prime career in Europe, he went back to the NBA and became part of the Toronto Raptors where he was finally known as a high-quality shooter and defense. At present, Parker is a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. As of May 2010 in his NBA career, he has played 371 games and scored 9.5 PPG.
