Aaron Michael Heilman is a Major League Baseball player who was born on November 12, 1978 in Logansport, Indiana. He had his high school education at Logansport High School where he served as a baseball varsity athlete. He was once named as the Most Valuable Player in his team and participated in two regional championship games. He was also included in the All-Star team and continued to practice his baseball skills in University of Notre Dame where he finished college.
He was selected by the New York Mets as first round selection during the 2001 Amateur Draft. Heilman was the 18th overall pick in the said draft and had his Major League Baseball first appearance on June 26, 2003 at the Shea Stadium. According to reviews, he pitched badly with an earned run average of 5.92 as a starting pitcher in 2003 and continued such performance in 2004 and early part of 2005. Finally, he made his best game on April 5, 2005 when he made a complete game shutout. He was converted to a relief pitcher for the remaining games in 2005 and recorded an earned run average of 2.18.
In 2008, he joined the Seattle Mariners which traded him not long after to the Chicago Cubs. He signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on November 19, 2009.
