The Miami Heat is a professional basketball team apart of the NBA’s Southeast Division in the Eastern Conference. Based in Miami, Florida, the Heat was formed as one of four expansion teams in 1988 and played their home games at the Miami Arena until moving to their new, current home court at the American Airlines Arena in 1999.
Although the Heat experienced a dismal start to the team's existence, Miami is now home to one of the most prominent teams in the league. Under their first coach, Ron Rothstein, the team experienced much mediocrity and only appeared in the postseason twice in the first eight years of the Heat's existence. Upon being purchased by current team owner, Micky Arison, the Miami Heat brought in Pat Riley as team president and head coach to change the future of the franchise. Riley spearheaded a campaign that transformed the Heat, which involved acquiring Tim Hardaway, Shaquille O'Neal, and Alonzo Mourning as the basis for a talent roster that could win. The Heat finally began to see real success and won the franchise's first championship during the 2006 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. A true Miami Heat dynasty was then born in the 2010-2011 season, upon creating the Big Three with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron Jameswho went on to dominate the league under current head coach Erik Spoelstra and Pay Riley as manager. Completely commanding the court and demolishing their opponents, the James, Wade, and Bosh led the Heat to two consecutive NBA Championships in 2013 and 2013 and four straight Eastern Conference titles.
As one of the most highly acknowledged teams in the NBA with players that will remain a part of basketball history forever, Miami Heat memorabilia is iconic for any sports collection. No NBA collection is complete without memorabilia signed by Heat greats, like a Dwyane Wade autographed basketball or Chris Bosh autographed photos autographed photos.
