Jack Lambert Pittsburgh Steelers Unsigned Close Up Photograph

About Jack Lambert Autographed Memorabilia & Collectibles

Historical Milestones

Jack Lambert was a ferocious, Hall of Fame linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was the heart and soul of their “Steel Curtain” defense from 1974 to 1984. Lambert played with an intensity that inspired his teammates to win four Super Bowls, while also putting fear into the heart of his opponents. At 6-4, 220-pounds, he could do it all with his intelligence, range, durability, and propensity to dish out punishing hits.

Jack Lambert began his career with a bang, becoming the Steelers starting middle linebacker as a rookie in 1974 and winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. That same year kicked off the Steelers dynasty, as they smothered the Minnesota Vikings 16-6 in Super Bowl IX. Under Lambert’s leadership (he would be their defensive captain for eight years) Pittsburgh would win three more Super Bowls, two of them against the Dallas Cowboys. Jack Lambert’s interception in the final minutes of Super Bowl XIV versus the Los Angeles Rams sealed the game for the Steelers.

Born in Ohio, Jack Lambert had a stellar 11-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1976 and 1983 and was an All-Pro eight times. In 1984, he would retire with 28 interceptions, 1,479 career tackles and nine Pro Bowl appearances. Lambert is one of the few players to have been named to the NFL All-Decade Team for both the 70s and 80s. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
