Evgeny Kuznetsov is a Russian hockey player that plays forward for the Washington Capitals. Kuznetsov has been a great player for the Russian national teams in both the junior and senior ranks. In 2011, in the World Junior Championship, he was part of the team that won a Gold medal. He has since won gold medals in both the 2012 and 2014 World Championships on the senior Russia team. In the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Kuznetsov was drafted 26th overall by the Capitals.
In the 2015-16 NHL season, Kuznetsov scored 20 goals and assisted on 57 for a total of 77 points. This marked a breakout season for Kuznetsov, were he made his first All-Star game. In the following season, Kuznetsov was once again solid, scoring 19 goals and 59 points. After that season, Kuznetsov re-signed with the Capitals as a restricted free-agent to an eight-year $62.4 million deal. Evgeny and the Washington Capitals would claim the franchises first Stanley Cup championship in 2018 where Kuznetsov recored an incredible 32 points throughout the playoffs.
