Drew Brees is one of the greatest players in NFL history. This New Orleans Saints quarterback has dominated the league since being drafted out of Purdue University in 2001. During his college career with the Purdue Boilermakers, he passed for 11,792 yards and 90 touchdowns. He was widely regarded as one of the nation’s top college players during his career, winning the Maxwell Award once and the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Award twice.
Over the course of his NFL career, Brees has won numerous awards including the 2004 AP Comeback Player of the Year Award, 2008 and 2011 AP Offensive Player of the Year Awards, and the Bert Bell Award in 2009. He has also been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week and to the Pro Bowl Team many times each, as well as to the AP First-Team All-Pro in 2006. Since embarking on his NFL career he has finished among the most prolific passers in terms of yards, touchdowns, attempts, and completions in almost every season. At Super Bowl XLIV he led the New Orleans Saints to a 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts and was named the Super Bowl MVP. Brees has set numerous NFL records and has cemented a legacy that has him bound for Canton, Ohio.
During the 2018 season, Drew Brees surpassed Brett Favre for most completions in NFL history with over 6,300. In week 7 Drew Brees continued his record breaking season by throwing his 500th touchdown pass to Benjamin Watson.
