Oh, what could’ve been. Injuries not only slowed Derrick Rose’s career, but they also robbed basketball fans around the globe from witnessing a once in a generation talent. Rose attended the University of Memphis to play under coach John Calipari, where in his one and only collegiate season, Rose lead the Tigers to the best record in the NCAA, and to an NCAA championship appearance, and was also a finalist for the top point guard award, as well as the top player in the nation award.
Rose was drafted first overall by the Chicago Bulls and set the league on fire in his debut season. He earned rookie of the month honors in both November, December, and March, and followed that up by winning Rookie of the Year. Rose also became the first rookie in league history to win the skills challenge. In his first playoff appearance, Derrick Rose tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for most points in a playoff game by a rookie. In the 2009-10 season, Rose was elected to his first All-Star game, and then became the youngest player ever to win the NBA’s MVP award the season after that, and went on to win two FIBA World Cup gold medals with team USA.
Unfortunately, Rose was then plagued by knee injuries. After a torn ACL, three torn menisci, an orbital bone fracture, a sprained ankle, and trades to the Knicks, and the Cavaliers Rose signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he was reunited with his first coach Tom Thibodeau. Our 100% authentic signed Derrick Rose memorabilia will assure that his legacy will live on, and will look great in any room you choose to display it in.
