Description
April 15, 1947 is a day that history was made, when Jackie Robinson (dec. 1972) sprinted to 2nd base for the Brooklyn Dodgers, making his Major League debut as the first African American to break the color barrier since 1884. At 28 years old, Robinson became the inaugural MLB Rookie of the Year. In 1949, he was the NL batting champion, and became the first black player to be named the NL MVP. The 6-time All-Star played in 6 World Series, bringing a World Championship to Brooklyn in 1955. Robinson was named a member of the MLB All-Century Team and was enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. This yellow Hall of Fame plaque postcard was hand signed by Jackie Robinson, and beautifully matted and framed. The autograph is guaranteed authentic, and includes a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication. Frame size: 24" x 34
