
Historical Barry Bonds Milestones
Barry Bonds is the most prolific home run hitter Major League Baseball has ever seen. Bonds was drafted in the first round of the 1985 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates out of Arizona State University. In 1993 Bonds went on to play for the San Francisco Giants where he remained until retiring from the big leagues in 2007. For Bonds’ career, this left fielder drove in 1,996, had 2,935 hits, and holds the MLB records for most home runs with 762 and most walks with 2,558.
Barry Bonds holds the record for winning the most MVP Awards in MLB history, being awarded the NL MVP honor seven times during his career. Bonds is also a 14-time All-Star and an eight-time Gold Glove Award winner. Over the course of this 12-time Silver Slugger Award winner’s MLB career Bonds has also won two National League Batting Titles and stole 514 bases. In 2001 Bonds set the major league records for home runs in a single season by hitting 73.
