The Washington Nationals, previously known as Montreal Expos was formed in 1969. A major share of the team was occupied Charles Bronfman, a major shareholder of Seagram. The team had a consistent ranking of third and forth in eight of the nine seasons from 1982-1990. The team was then managed by Buck Rodgers. He pocketed 91 games victory in 1987 and Expos finished 3rd in the Divisional Championship. The team was gifted with players like Gary Carter, Tim Raines and Andre Dawson. A member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Gary Edmund Carter had established himself as one of the premier catchers of the National League. Carter had won Three Golden Glove awards and five Silver Slugger Awards. Being drafted in the team in 1972, Carter game was greatly appreciated. He was selected in the National Team All-Star Teams as a right fielder.  The player had bagged 17 home runs 68 runs finishing second to John Montefusco. Carter earned Sporting News Rookie of the Year Award in 1975.  In his entire career Carter had played more than 2000 games and had hit more than 300 home runs. Recent news revealed that Carter after his retirement served as an analyst for Florida Marlins television Broadcast. He made a short appearance in a Hollywood movie, The Last Home Run in 1998. He was later elected to the New York Mets Hall of Fame in 2001 and to the Canadian baseball hall of Fame in 2003. Carter. Carter later got elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame along with Eddie Murray in 2003.
