The band as many say is the oldest in the organization and since 1893 has been part of the musical regiment and the HOKIES. They have a long history of about 120 years and have been through around 130 parades and competitions. They not only play while the games are on but also play for concerts and jazz shows and are popular by the name of Southern Colonels.  So be it representing the boys at football or the girls at basketball, the band is always there to give them the motivating musical notes the VT Hokies need.
