About Utah Jazz Home and Office
From 1975-1979, the Superdome in Louisiana was the first Jazz home as the old New Orleans Jazz franchise. On that period, the young team was still struggling for a good venue because of the lease terms issues of the stadium. During the 76-77 seasons they acquired the service of
Gail Goodrich to team-up with Pete Maravich. Goodrich, a left-handed and great offensive player on that time with astounding reputation as an excellent ball-handler, despite the fact that he only measures 6 ft. and 1 in. in height, he had led his former college basketball team the
UCLA Bruins for its two National Championships titles in 1963-1964 and 1964-1965 NCAA seasons under the coaching guidance of the legendary basketball coach
John Wooden, and also the main man in scoring for the Los Angeles Lakers, before he gradually switched to Jazz in 1976.
Meanwhile, after relocating to Salt Lake City in Utah for its new home they still kept the team’s name and its original team’s colors of green, purple, and gold; and the start of the new Utah Jazz. From that time on up to the present, the Energy Solution Arena in Salt Lake City became the permanent home of the team.
