About Tennessee Volunteers Jerseys
The
Tennessee Volunteers football team also called as the Vols, are a member of the Southeastern Conference. Their very first game was played in 1891. The team had many ups and downs in their history but as usual they have braved every one of their troubles and crossed the obstacles in their way to enter the hearts and minds of fans everywhere.
The Vols have played many of their historic games at the Neyland Stadium. This is named after the legendary coach Robert Neyland who coached the football team from 1926 till 1952. In between he took time out to defend the nation’s honor since he was also in active military service. During his reign, the Tennessee Volunteers won against many great teams including the
Alabama Crimson Tide.
After Neyland’s departure from this position and subsequent coaches, came Doug Dickey who made some significant changes in the team’s strategies. These strategies were widely accepted and are in use even today. This team’s main rivals are the Vanderbilt Commodores, Memphis Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats and
Georgia Bulldogs.
The Pride of Southland band’s most played song is ‘Rocky Top’ by the Osborne Brothers. The team’s lucky mascot is Smokey who is represented by a live Bluetick coonhound and a costumed version of the mascot. He appears in almost all the games of the team.
