The Tennessee Volunteer’s football team has been in the news for many years and their exploits have graced the hearts and minds of fans for decades. This team which came into existence in 1891 has played for 5 consecutive seasons without even a coach. They have changed coaches time and again and adopted the orange of their present jersey but their consistent performance on the fields have given rise to fans across the state clamoring for items that signify their favorite players on and off the fields. This star quarterback became the brightest light to shine on the fields and all because of an injured knee that brought him in. He gave the team the greatest results in his playing years until eventually he went to the NFL.
The team’s home stadium is the Neyland Stadium and their greatest rivals have been Alabama Crimson Tide and Vanderbilt Commodores among others. Smokey, was selected to be the mascot for the Tennessee Volunteers after a poll was conducted which took the opinions of the student body to decide on this.
