The Seattle Supersonics was a NBA team representing Seattle, Washington in the Pacific and Northwest Divisions of the Western Conference. Established in 1967, the team was active until it relocated in 2008 and was renamed the Oklahoma City Thunder. Home games were played in the Kingdom and Seattle Center Coliseum before the team’s relocation.
The Supersonics had a long history of success and fame; the franchise’s history, which boasts innumerable memorable games as well as players such as the great Gary Payton, will be remembered for generations to come. With six division titles, in their history, the Supersonics were a hyper successful franchise once home to many great NBA Greats, like Lenny Wilkens, Spencer Haywood, Gary Payton and Kevin Durrant along with legendary coach Bill Russell.
