The only team with two or more appearances with no defeats in the challenging Super Bowl, San Francisco 49ers began to play football in the year 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference and had joined the NFL in the year 1950 just after the AAFC merged into the older league. The team is currently a member of the Western Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League.
