About San Diego Chargers Memorabilia, Collectibles & Merchandise

The team is at present part of the Western Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football League. The San Diego Chargers are professional team in football that is having their base in San Diego, California. As a charter member of the American Football League, the San Diego Chargers started to play in the season of 1960. Moreover, the first season that they have was played in Los Angeles, California. A year after, they moved then to San Diego. The team is originally owned by the heir of Barron Hilton. The team first played in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. They only played in this arena for one season. One of the first well known coaches that they have was Sid Gillman. Today, the team is owned by George Spanos and it is being managed by A.J Smith. Many of their fans also named them as the Bolts. And they are playing their home games at the Qualcomm Stadium.

Known to be the only team to have joined the playoffs with a season-starter of 0-4 in 1992 and a 4-8 in 2008, the San Diego Chargers started in the football scene in 1960. In 1963, they were able to win an American Football League title enabling them to reach the AFL playoffs. They have appeared five times in the playoffs and four times in AFL Championships before they got in to the National Football League in 1970. Fast forward to 1994, they played in the Super Bowl XXIX against the San Francisco 49ers.

Their early success can be attributed to their strong lineup including names such as Paul Lowe, John Hadl, and Keith Lincoln. They had victories in the AFL in the 1960s. Collect Paul Lowe collectibles from our variety of memorabilia. In this era, the Chargers had what football would then call “Fearsome Foursome” representing their all-star defensive lineup. Part of it were Earl Faison and Ernie Ladd. The Chargers also made a mark in football history when they played a game with the Miami Dolphins which was then called The Epic in Miami. They won in this divisional round with a 41-38. At that time, sports analysts were astonished as their offenses were not affected by the temperature at that day--85°F, and 29.4°C at the Miami Orange Bowl. In that particular game, Dan Fouts was the quarterback for the Chargers.

Their entry to the Super Bowl XXIX was a combination between quarterback Stan Humphries and Tony Martin, wide receiver. They both combined a touchdown of 99 yards. Chargers had a lot of accomplishments and you may want to own autographed San Diego Chargers Memorabilia & Collectibles.
