The Portland Trail Blazers are an NBA franchise based out of Portland, Oregon that plays in the Western Conference’s Northwest Division. The Blazers became the second team in the NBA to play in the Pacific Northwest as they started play in 1970, only a few years after the Super Sonics came to Seattle. For 25 years Portland played at the Memorial Coliseum before moving in to the Moda Center, often still referred to as the Rose Garden, in 1995.
Since the 1970's the Blazers have established one of the most passionate fan bases in all of basketball, much of which is caused by the team’s success on the court. The Blazers have won four division, three conference, and one NBA championship throughout their existence and proved to be one of the most dominant teams of the 70' and 90’s. Hall of Fame big man Bill Walton led Portland to their first and only NBA Championship in 1977 and superstar Clyde Drexler helped the Blazers win two Western Conference Championships in the early 1990's. Today, point guard sensation Damian Lillard and all-star forward LaMarcus Aldridge look to certainly bring Portland back to NBA greatness.
