The Minnesota Timberwolves are an NBA franchise located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, playing in the Western Conference’s Northwest Division. The team originally came to Minnesota as an expansion team in 1989, playing their first year of games split between the Metrodome and the Met Center. The team changed its home court in the 1990 season to the Target Center and has played home games in this location ever since.
As one of the newer franchises in the NBA, the Minnesota Timberwolves are on their way to becoming a highly successful NBA team. Like most expansion teams, the Timberwolves struggled in the early years before securing top-notch draft picks, like Kevin Garnett in the 1995 NBA Draft, the star who helped the team to eight consecutive playoff appearances before securing their first division title in 2004. With Garnett returning in the 2015 season, the Timberwolves have high hopes to return to the top of their division and secure yet another title. With some of the most renowned players dressing out in the blue, green, silver and black at some point in their careers, the Timberwolves have seen great players on their roster, including Ray Allen, Christian Laettner, Stephon Marbury and Terrell Brandon.
