The LSU Tigers are also known by their official nickname that is the Fightin’ Tigers. Furthermore, the mascot of the team is named as Mike the Tiger. And they have the team’s colors that are purple and gold. The name of the team was from its conference heritage and was said to come from the Civil War fame of two Louisiana brigades who were able to fight so ferociously that they were then later on named as the “Louisiana Tigers”. The LSU Tigers is known for being consistently one of the best in the nation. The famous arena that they have is the Tiger Stadium or the Death Valley. This is the renowned football arena of their football team. At present, the athletics director of the team is Joe Alleva.
