Their name was from their original home that is in Los Angeles. Since 1966, they have been based in the Angel Stadium Anaheim. The Los Angeles Angels was founded as an expansion franchise in Los Angeles in the season of 1961. They started to play their home games at Los Angeles’ Wrigley Field. They were moved then in 1962 in the Chavez Ravine and then again to Angel Stadium of Anaheim in 2004. The Los Angeles Angels’ name has gone through several changes in their history. They were first changed to California Angels on September 2, 1965. They were renamed again as the Anaheim Angels and then were renamed to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. All through their history, they have used ten different logos as well as three unlike color combinations.

They became a member of the Western Division of the American League in 1969. They’re best known for their victory in 2009 when they became champions for the American League Western Division for three straight seasons.

The Los Angeles Angels holds a list of records. In 2002, they bagged a World Series championship title. In the same year, the Angels won in the American League Pennants. Their West Division win in 2009 was not the first one. It was actually their 8th title since 1979.
