About Kent State Golden Flashes Memorabilia & Collectibles
The intercollegiate athletic teams of the Kent State University are known as the Golden Flashes. They are also commonly called as the Flashes. They are fielding 16 varsity athletic teams that are all playing in the Mid-American Conference and in the Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The Kent State Golden Flashes started shortly after the Kent State University was organized. It was in the season of 1910. The first classes of the school was sometime in 1912. In 1913, the first sporting event for the Kent State Golden Flashes was held. It was a men’s basketball game that was played against the Kent High School. In the season of 1914, the baseball team of the Kent State Golden Flashes was organized and previously named as the Normal Line. And it is being followed by their football team that was established in 1920. The Kent State Golden Flashes have their mascot that is named as Flash the Golden Eagle.
